Refine
Improve what you already have.
Not every equipment problem requires replacement. ASUBURE can measure, adjust, repair, optimize and verify existing equipment to address a specific requirement or bring clubs closer to the intended specification.
Refine philosophy
Change what needs changing. Nothing more.
A club may perform poorly because a specification has changed, a component has failed, the setup no longer suits the golfer, or clubs within a set no longer progress as intended. REFINE begins with the existing equipment and the reason for the work.
Measure before modifying. Verify after changing.
Service scope
The work itself
Adjust
Correct or change an existing specification.
- Loft & lie measurement and adjustment
- Playing-length adjustment
- Club extension — steel or graphite
- Swingweight adjustment / optimization
- Additional grip tape / build-up
- Hot-melt application where appropriate
Repair & component work
Restore or replace individual components where appropriate.
- Shaft replacement
- Broken-shaft extraction
- Regripping
- Grip removal and preservation where practical
- Adapter installation or replacement
- Ferrule-related work
- Putter grip installation
Measure & verify
Know what your equipment actually is.
A manufacturer’s specification or previous build sheet does not necessarily tell you what is physically in front of you. ASUBURE can measure existing equipment to establish its current specifications.
Measure the club you have — not the club the specification sheet says you should have.
- Playing length
- Swingweight
- Total weight
- Loft
- Lie
- Frequency check
- Relevant specification checks
- Set progression review
Set evaluation
A set should work as a set.
Individual clubs can appear acceptable while the progression across the set tells a different story. Where applicable, ASUBURE can evaluate:
- Length progression
- Total-weight progression
- Swingweight progression
- Frequency progression
- Loft progression
- Lie consistency
- Gapping
Performance evaluation
Not sure what needs changing?
You do not need to diagnose the equipment yourself. If a club or set does not feel or perform as expected, ASUBURE can first evaluate the equipment and relevant performance before recommending whether adjustment, repair, retrofit, fitting — or no change — is appropriate.
Equipment is one factor among several. Not every performance issue has an equipment solution, and ASUBURE will say so where that is the case.
Gapping
Gapping evaluation
Distance gaps can be evaluated to identify overlaps, excessive gaps or areas of the bag that may warrant further investigation. Bending lofts is not automatically the answer.
- No change
- Loft adjustment
- Equipment configuration change
- Further fitting
Refine vs retrofit
Repair, refine — or retrofit?
REFINE generally addresses an existing club through measurement, adjustment, repair or individual component work.
RETROFIT, under BUILD, is appropriate when a major component is deliberately retained while the club is substantially rebuilt around a replacement component and defined specification.
Not sure which applies? You do not need to decide before contacting ASUBURE.
Component policy
Have the component already?
Customer-supplied shafts, grips, adapters, ferrules and other compatible components are welcome, subject to inspection and suitability. Where components are required, ASUBURE may source them as part of the service.
ASUBURE is not a standalone component store.
Quotation
Quoted according to the work required.
REFINE services vary depending on the club, component condition, work involved and whether additional parts or materials are required. After reviewing the request, ASUBURE will confirm the proposed work and quotation before proceeding.
No additional work is carried out without agreement.
Scope limits
Not currently offered
Being clear about scope is part of being independent. If a request falls outside it, ASUBURE will say so rather than improvise.
- —Wedge fitting
- —Putter fitting
- —Full club refurbishment / cosmetic restoration
- —General club repair beyond the repair and component work listed above
Refine request
Tell ASUBURE what is happening
Submitting a Refine request does not commit you to any work. ASUBURE will review the information and confirm the recommended work, quotation and next step.
ASUBURE may request photos or additional information after reviewing your request.
Start with a measurement
A full-set measurement is often the most useful first step. You will know exactly what you are playing before anything is changed.
